Your Off-Season Nutrition Strategy: Fuel Wisely
The off-season is a great time for athletes to focus on their nutrition to help them get the most out of their off-season training. Athletes are often looking to recover and repair from the season they just wrapped up and rebuild muscle mass during this critical timeframe of the annual cycle of sports. Athletes should aim for a 2:1 or 1:1 carb-to-protein ratio during the off-season when trying to gain muscle mass.
It’s also very important for athletes to consume a variety of whole foods such as fruits, vegetables, complex carbs, lean proteins, herbs and spices in order to receive all the vitamins and minerals needed to recover and rebuild. Off-season nutrition can sometimes get a little sloppy, often athletes have more times on their hands which can lead to indulging in more processed foods.
Our Training Week PACs are filled with healthy, high quality foods for athletes to help them gain muscle mass the right way, the healthy way. Each PAC is filled with foods high in antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids to decrease inflammation and help athletes repair quicker.
